Charity’s Entrepreneurial Journey: From Hair Braiding to Thriving Ventures

Charity Nakaggwa is an ambitious 18-year-old who followed her grandmother’s advice to join the Street Business School training program. “My grandmother had joined the training program, so she also encouraged me to sign up and learn business skills.”

Charity-2Before the training, Charity was already skilled in hair braiding and known for her hardworking nature. However, the program opened doors to new possibilities.

During the training, the most impactful lessons for Charity were on savings and the idea of starting small. These insights played a crucial role in shaping her entrepreneurial journey and were key to the success of her various business ventures.

After graduating from the training program, Charity expanded beyond her braiding services. She started a laundry business, offering washing services for her neighbors, and began selling fried cassava, starting with a modest capital of just $2.66. Balancing these three distinct ventures, Charity now earns a daily profit of $6.59.

Charity uses her savings to reinvest and grow her business. She is grateful for having attended the training program. “I am a businessperson, and I feel empowered. I am happy that I do not have to depend on my grandmother.”
